We had a great night last night in Lancashire. Universal Celebrations showcased a small range of their products, by popular demand, and it was a great success, with orders flooding in. Thanks to all who attended, and made it a fun night.

Universal Celebrations were approached by charitable organisation NSUK, support services for young people in prisions, offender institutes, and police custody. NSUK is a platform for reform, making changes to offenders future, so that they may succeed in life. This charitable organisation was founded in 2001 by Catholic Priest Noah Smith, but since his passing in 2004 it has become increasingly difficult to secure funding. The income generated is purely by donations by from the public, and the generosity of volunteers. NSUK asked for just one set of rosary beads. Universal happily obliged with that and more. Local University strikes again, as for the 3rd time is nominated for the "University of the Year Awards 2011". This pretigious award brings stiff competition nationwide. We recently had a call from a lady looking for a Christening Gift, but for a 22 year old woman. "What can we possibly buy that isnt for a little girl or boy". Universal Celebrations takes a weekend visit to Prague, and amongst many other worthy sights, makes a point of visiting, the small unassuming church, which is home to "The Child of Prague". Much smaller than anticipated, (perhaps only 1ft in height) the wax figure of an infant stands in a stunning glass casket, on an alter, surrounded by the most beautiful and fragrant display of flowers.

No photographs may be taken. People stand to admire, and kneel to pray, with an opportunity to light a candle and contribute to the upkeep of the little church, as surprisingly, it is free to enter. Buying a booklet on the history of The Child of Prague, we quickly learn that he has a wardrobe so full of ornate and intricate gowns that he could easily compete with any woman of standing in the 21st century.

"The Child of Prague" is not something that is signposted, but there is a tourist information board at the end of Charles Bridge ... from there it is only a five minute walk, and tourist information were kind enough to point us in the right direction. "Worth a visit" - and by all accounts, Prague is a very beautiful city.

Thank you very much for the exceptionally fast delivery of the Children’s Silver Rosary Beads which I received yesterday after only ordering on Monday. I was worried in case they wouldn’t arrive on time as my daughter is going away at the weekend to Lourdes for a week and she is making her 1st Holy Communion there. She is disabled and has Cerebral Palsy and she is going on a pilgrimage with about 5000 children for a special holy week with a group called HCPT.
